Check out our photos below to see this project in all its glory.
Our challenge was to build a 550 SF bungalow pool house which would replicate the original 1920's main house and carriage house on the property. This new construction was in a flood zone so the structure had to be elevated to meet building code. The biggest compliment for this project was when the tax assessor came on site and could not figure out which building was "new"! Now that's what historical construction is all about!
The team at Quality Home Renovators knew that the key to this project was to replicate the original 1920's main house and carriage house as closely as possible. They carefully researched the history of the property and came up with a plan that would respect the original design while also incorporating modern amenities. They began by building a 550 SF bungalow pool house with all the features of the original property. The new construction was in a flood zone, so the structure had to be elevated to meet building code.
The end result was a stunning new construction that seamlessly blended the past with the present. The property now boasts beautiful original details such as restored hardwood floors, ornate moldings, and high ceilings, as well as modern amenities such as a state-of-the-art kitchen, updated electrical and plumbing, and a new HVAC system. The biggest compliment for this project was when the tax assessor came on site and could not figure out which building was "new"! Now that's what historical construction is all about! The team at Quality Home Renovators is proud of this project and are happy to have a delivered a home that respected its history while also being comfortable and functional for the daily lives of the homeowners.
